Since the Delegates Assembly at the end of July, Jérémie Kamerzin has been on the Board of the Swiss Ice Hockey Players’ Union. The nomination as a board member came as a bit of a surprise, but Jérémie is nevertheless looking forward to making his contribution to SIHPU. We asked our newest board member a few questions.
Jérémie, for what reason did you join the players’ association in the first place?.
“I could identify well with the goals and motivation of SIHPU from the beginning. And that I am now on the board is good. So I can represent the concerns of the “French” players.”
Why should every player join the SIHPU?.
“SIHPU gives us a voice. The more players we can unite, the more seriously our concerns and issues will be taken by the various players in the league and we can make a difference.”
What advice would you give to a young, up-and-coming player along the way?
“On the athletic side, I would look for specialization. Teams can always use players who have a special talent or are really good in a special area.
On the private side, I would recommend not to neglect professional training. And be careful with money. It’s always good to be able to save or invest. But of course, you’re allowed to treat yourself once in a while.”
What are your goals in the players’ association?.
“I want to be involved with the new members and help them as much as I can.”
To get to know you a little better as a person, we have a few more personal questions for you.
Which opponent is the most troublesome for you?.
“Definitely Chris Baltisberger. He is very persistent.”
What annoys your teammates the most about you?
“That I’m always very close before we go on the ice. ”
And finally, Which song should not be missing in your pre-game playlist?.
“Monde by Martin Luminet.”
